ABOUT Edward M. Riley LMP
Edward Riley started performing massage at the age of ten on family
members, neighbors and friends. Finally at the prompting of his
family in 1997 Edward decided to attend school to make massage
therapy his profession.
He was in private practice for 5 years in San Diego, CA, followed by
2 years working in a very busy chiropractic office in Chicago, IL,
where he set up the massage therapy program. From 2003 to 2006 he
worked for a hospital based outpatient physical therapy clinic here
in the Northwest.
In 1998, he attended a Thai Massage class that changed his
understanding of the body and the entire focus of his practice.
Unable to impress on people the benefits of traditional Thai Massage
Edward developed his routine, “Passive Stretch for a Balanced Body”,
where it has been an integral part of his practice ever since.
Edward presently owns his own private practice, Northwest Corrective
Massage, located in the historic Uptown District of Vancouver, WA.
In addition, he has been on faculty as an advanced modalities
instructor at Evergreen Healing Arts as well as the author and
instructor for multiple continuing education courses for other body
workers. The foundations of Edward’s work is based on all aspects of
clinical massage--including massage therapy for injury, pre and post
surgery, rehabilitation education, sports massage, implementing home
exercise programs, and gait and postural analysis.
All of these components come together as Edward expresses his
passion through teaching and empowering his clients through postural
re-education and muscular re-alignment. He also has found a love of
teaching and enjoys passing these techniques on to other body
workers through his continuing education classes offered through out
the Northwest
